Livadi is a small village located on the peninsula of Akrotiri in the north-western part of Crete. The much larger town of Chania is located approx. 15 km to the south, whereas the distance to the airport is shorter.
The beach in general
Livadi has an approx. 60 m long sand beach, which is beautifully situated in a deep bay. The clear water is very shallow and the beach is very well protected against waves. Next to perfect conditions for families.
It is possible to rent sun lounges and sunshades at the beach. There are also changing facilities and access to simple toilets. You can park by the road.
Right next to the main beach, there is a smaller sand beach. Both beaches are rarely crowded.
With its fine-grained sand, and in particular the shallow and calm water, the beach in Livadi is very child-friendly.
No water sports activities.
There is a beach bar/ice-cream stall, which is usually open during the high season. One minute away from the beach, there is a restaurant with a lovely view of the bay.
Livadi is a very small town with only a few houses. Nevertheless, there is a hotel with 13 apartments and a swimming pool.
There is also a restaurant with a view of the beach. You will find more shops and restaurants in the towns of Chorafakia and Kalathas nearby.
