The village of Episkopi lies about 1 - 2 kms inland from the National road between Rethymnon and Chania. It is about 18 kms vest of Rethymno and you will find a supermarket, a mini market and a couple of tavernas and kafenions. Episkopi village itself it not much to see but the beaches along the National Road in this area are wide and sandy for miles and miles in both directions. The sea in this area is regarded as the cleanest and most beautiful on the north coast. Even in the height of the summer season you can easily find a secluded spot on your own or a strip with sun beds and parasols if that is what you like.
